Since the early 90’s, Medina Engineering has been actively involved in the Rail Industry in Australia in a number of different areas.

As the local representative of CAF Railway components, we have been successfully marketing CAF Railway wheels & axles for some of the largest projects in Australia and have product being used in most states of Australia.  CAF wheels & axles have been used locally on Tilt Trains, Freight Locomotives and most recently on the Hunter & O.S.Car projects in NSW.

We also represent TALGO high speed trains and rolling stock maintenance equipment designed to inspect, re-profile via under floor CNC wheel lathes  & prolong the life of wheels & axles in service. Of major interest is the TALGO Dual Gauge bogies which enable a train to pass from one gauge of track to another gauge whilst the train is still moving. This has generated interest as a number of our state borders have different gauges on each side.

Lastly, Medina Engineering’s internal capabilities enable the manufacture of the smallest to largest components utilized in Rolling Stock applications  from small screws to complete machining of Bogies & Headstock frames or re-profiling of wheels.
